Senior living for veterans.

A military retirement community, The Fairfax serves retired officers and their spouses from the U.S. Army, Navy, Marines, Air Force and Coast Guard; retired veterans of the U.S. Public Health Service, NOAA, Foreign Service, CIA and FBI; retired federal employees; and parents of retired or active duty uniformed service officers. The Fairfax was developed in 1989 for the non-profit ARRF-P (Army Retirement Residence Foundation – Potomac)

Offering gracious independent living and health care accommodations, comfort and security for its residents, our senior living community consists of 347 apartments in five four-story buildings and 35 attached cottages. The community is served by a community center and an on-site health care center, which offers assisted livingmemory care, skilled nursing care and senior rehabilitation care.

Originally, Lord Fairfax of England owned the land on which The Fairfax stands. His cousin William, who was appointed to manage Lord Fairfax’s holdings, and William’s son George William lived at Belvoir from 1741-1773. Today, the community is owned by a real estate investment trust and managed by Sunrise Senior Living, Inc.

The Fairfax has a Fort Belvoir, VA, address and is immediately adjacent to the base on a gorgeous 60-acre campus and nature preserve. DC and Old Town Alexandria are minutes away.
